Good afternoon everyone, I just recently bought a used Jeep but cant seem to figure out what size lift is currently on it. I have a few mods that I want to start working on but the lift size will depend on the parts that I buy and want to be 100% sure before I start ordering. Is there anyway yall can help me figure this out?
Looks like you have at least a 2" "budget boost" - they're the spacers between the top of the spring and the spring perch on the frame. Brackets to raise the shocks and probably longer sway bar links, all common parts for the BB kit. Everything else looks stock to me.
Measure from the frame to axle using this diagram. It's been posted all over the web dozens of times but whatever here's one more...
So only a 2" lift running 37s? I feel like it would have to be much bigger in order to support that tire size. I may be wrong but just wanted to clarify.
37s can be done with flat fenders and just a few inches of lift. It's hard to tell from the pics but that spacer on top of the spring looks more like 3 - 4 inches. Definitely get out the measuring tape to confirm.
As Rockystock mentioned, 37 is a lot for a cheap spacer lift. You probably want to look into beefing things up or downsize your lift/tires.
If that jeep has 37s on it now, I'd recommend getting an alignment to make sure the axle isn't bent to shit, and then either repair or replace, but definitely get some gussets on the housing before doing anything else. Good luck!
C-gussets at a minimum, even if only used on the street. OP didn't offer any additional info like what the Jeep will be used for so can't make any other recommendations.
You can run 35s with no lift if you run flat fenders as long as you have less than 4.5 backspacing. I’m currently running 35 12.50 15 on 15x10 rims with 3.75 backspacing. Therefore running 37s with 2 inch lift is no problem in terms of fitment but if you are concerned about longevity I’d definitely gusset those inner C & upgrade the ball joints if you haven’t already done so. Also panic stop is gonna be out of question so I’d upgrade the brakes as well in fact that’s where I’d start if I were you (safety first).
