New PCM/ECU

I'm looking for options for getting a new PCM/ECU for my RIPPed '12 JKUR.

I've been having steady issues with O2 related codes, only to discover that it's the ECU. Moving the main engine harness, even with the engine not running, will cause it to throw codes, even after replacing the main engine harness.

My question is this... who can provide a new unit without programming it in the vehicle? Can it be done?

I could take it to the dealer and have a new one installed, but because of the custom RIPP programming it's a hassle. I'd have to drive it to the dealer, return the ECU to stock form to unlock the programmer. then have them swap in a new ECU. Once it's done, I have to read the data from the ECU into the programmer, and send it off to RIPP to have the tune created for the new ECU, and wait for them to get back to me, usually a day or so. Meanwhile, it can't be started or driven, so it either sits in the way at the dealer, or I have to tow it home.

It would be so much easier if someone could just program one for my VIN and options and ship it to me to swap out and reprogram at my leisure.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I remember ripp advertising that you could pull the belt and limp it home. Cant you do that from the dealer once you get a new ECU?

You can pull the belt and limp WITH the RIPP tune. I'm not so sure about running it on the stock tune with the modified MAP and bigger injectors, even without any boost.

Maybe someone's tried it?

Bought a supposed plug-and-play refurb unit for just under $180 out the door.
