add some shim to the pinion and check again. The marks should be centered on the tooth.

Here's where we ended on the rear axle. Had we not mixed up the terminology about bringing the pinion deeper/shallower, it would've went a lot quicker. Dad and I both were backwards lol. They're going through break in miles currently and doing fine.
