Sorry if this is not the place for this. Mods, please move or remove this post if needed. I’m still a FNG and not sure if bolt ons are considered modifications or stock.

I searched but haven’t seen anything about using the aluminum doors offered by these two company’s to skin some DOM doors.
Or to put it another way, build DOM structure within the aluminum door.

Has anyone done this?
Anyone who has the doors could I trouble you to measure the space at the top of the alum door where the edge folds over to form a “C”?

Thanks.

Itís stock!

Why would you want to do that?

A sheet of aluminum in not as strong as a sheet of aluminum plus DOM. As far as the street is concerned, this would probably provide more protection in the event of a side impact than stock doors would.
My Jeep is a stock family vehicle right now but will either replace my buggy or become a family crawler (in addition to the buggy) as my daughter gets older.
We currently destroy 1/8” aluminum panels on the buggy on a regular basis.
I can make some tube doors and skin them with aluminum plate but it won’t look as good as these doors would.
Just trying to find out will 1 3/4” or 1 1/2” tube fit in that channel at the top of the aluminum doors
