Hoat vs oat

This is a continuation from my original posting being overheating with a twist.
However if my 13 rubi calls for hoat or oat i dont know the answer to that however my question is. Everything in my cooling system was replaced and the system was flushed out entirely. So if you eliminate the possibility of cross contamination of these two making a gel like substance. So with that said does anyone know if it did call for one kind and another kind was used could that alone cause the overheating issue? I dont know if there is that big of a difference between the two where one couldn't cool it as well as the other.

They cool the same. BUT the problem arises if they didn't fully get the remaining of OAT or HOAT out of the system and then you will get the sludge. Sludge causes a blockage which will limit cooling.

As long as you get ALL of the coolant out you can switch to whatever. If you do and mix them, .

How can you tell if this is the case aside from it wont cool? If it is flushed will that remove the blockage or is it possible that there is more to it?

i think this fact is part of where the coolant type confusion stemmed-from. Keeping the new Pentastar on the same coolant then switching it up the following year, right?

Yes! That would cause confusion with the owners and shops wanting to top off the coolant level without looking in the service and/or owner's manual for the year JK they are working on.
Even the dealers were giving people the wrong coolant in those transition years. It may still be happening.

Ouch, what a complete cluster fuck. So 7-12's were using HOAT and 13-18 using OAT? Also, what are the colors of each of these?

I'm due for a flush and have never done it on the Jeep.

ive replaced, replenished , flushed & tasted ( inadvertently) the HOAT coolant thatís used in my 2011 3.8l . I flushed the old & replaced with new of the same when I went to silicon upper/lower hoses & the Spal fan & upi shroud .

I have gallons of this down in garage, one in my rear fluid tote & it is colored orange , at least the Mopar brand is. I only run Mopar -same juice as factory - coolant in this thing.

Part number is :

Genuine Mopar Fluid 68048953AB Antifreeze/Coolant

Jeffery that sucks about tasting it. Thank you for the answer again. The first warning on that bottle is "harmful or fatal if swallowed or inhaled".
