Track bar lower mount holes too big

Well.... for the past month or so, i have been having an intermitent and slight wooble on the steering wheel... once when i hit a bump at speed, it increased, but usually its not very noticeable.... so today i removed my track bar (i have a 2.5" Rock Krawler stock mod suspension), and I noticed the PO had already replaced the lower bolt with a 9/16" bolt.

now, the holes in the mount look as if they are too big, they dont look too oval, but the bolt definitely has a lot of play in there. Is there a way of fixing this issue?

Sounds like some weld washers would fix you right up.

Are you sure thats a 9/16 bolt? Go grab a grade 8 from the hardware store and compare just to be sure. You want a 9/16-18 shouldered bolt.

If that doesn't do the trick you can replace the bracket with a weld on Artec unit or put a raised track bar bracket on it. Or weld some washers on the hole.

Yes I am sure thats 9/16, I measured with a vernier. Besides, the bolt fits tight on the trackbar. Any bigger bolt wouldnt fit.

Thank you GT1guy for the link. I didnt know those existed. But I am in Mexico, and I couldnt find them locally.

So, we made these out of some scrap material we had in the shop. We now will TIG weld them in place. I think that should be enough, they are thicker than the original plate.

That will work too. And they were cheaper!
