Do we have an active 4 Wheel Parts rep on here ?
I bought a Rancho 4"sport lift from 4wp ( well through a Rancho rep from this forum) with the series 9000 9 way adj shocks. Have one tire that is feathering in the front and come to find out the shock on that side actually will adjust past the 9 position by 1. Now either I have a secret 10 way adj shock or something is not 100%. Is it common for the 9000 series to go past the 9th position ?
I called the local 4wp store by where I live ( 1hr away) and told them what was going on, they said it should not be going past 9 and to just let them see it and they would have it replaced. Went in and they wanted to blame everything but the shock ( though they could not say it was not defective ) they went as far to sat that all the 9000 series went past the 9 position that they have seen ( funny none of my others do)..... Nice waste of my morning !
Hope a rep on here can help be out with a step 2 or a plan B as my local 4wp is obviously not going to. Well they did say they could have the alignment checked out as that was most likely the issue, but being a 2008 jeep it really can't be aligned other than toe( and that was done at time lift was professionally installed). They then went on to blame ball joints or tie rods, seriously it has maybe 40K on it of road use. I believe 4Wp is a class act but their outlets are something else, it's a shame really. I mean am I really out to snag 1 shock so I can sell it and make my fortune ? that is the way I was treated. One tire is feathering, one shock turns past the 9th position....am I missing something here ?
After that bit of a rant I do need to say I love the 4" sport lift and the 9000 series adj shocks, in fact I would put it up vs. any short arm lift on the market. Just want them to stand behind the life time warrantee and replace a shock that is not 100% correct. And other than my one shock if any one wants some info on the lift feel free to ask away, I highly recommend the lift itself !
