school me on hemi swaps

i was out to dinner with my buddy j tonight (who owns jtech) and we were talking about hemi swaps. He's the honda/chevy swap master (he builds wiring harnesses in his sleep i swear) and he wants to do one, soooooooo we're thinking this winter when things slow down doing my wife's 2 door as a test mule.

i'm guessing 07+ trucks and WK's? what's the best motor to go with? he's a dealer for a local place that sells wrecked and totalled cars/trucks. there were a few rolled hemi's that go for 2-3 grand for the whole truck.

what do swap kits come with? is there anything super essential that's in a swap kit that you can't make yourself?

thanks guys

I would be interested in this also. Especially since im here in town with you. The hemi is somewhere on my to do list but I definitely dont have the time or space to do it myself and sending it somewhere at what seems like ass raping prices is out of the question. So hopefully you guys have good luck with the swap. I think I met you with Nick at jeep night a few weeks back. Mine was the black unlimitted. You guys going to eau Claire this weekend?

07 black unlimited. 5.5" rock krawler x factor long arm. Pro comp soft 8s, 37" nitto mud grapplers. Kilby front winch bumper. Warn xd9000i. OrFab rear bumper. Much more to come in the near future.

woah wait what? what's the deal with this weekend?

ya, i was telling my buddy about how much they charge and his face was fantastic. mounts aren't rocket science to build. it's more the electronic BS that i'm interested in.

i remember you. would have liked to have talked more but the girls were hungry

If you guys start to get some of it figured out shoot me a pm, I would definantly be Interested. Like you said getting the motor and tranny in isn't the problem its getting everything to work. Too bad an ls1 swap is non existent at this point.

true, but to be honest the hemi seems to be a lot easier to get than an LS1...

True and cheaper at this point. Im just more partial to Chevy motors vs anything from mopar.
