Superchip - Tow Tune

For those familiar with Super Chips-

I just recieved my Superchip for my Jk and currently have it on 91 octane performance tune. It has been a noticable difference and the performance, I think its what it should have been from the factory. It re-couped all that I lost when I put bigger/heavier tires on it. I will be towing a trailer this weekend over the pass and setting it on Tow Tune. Will I be able to use the 87 octane gas or do I need to keep it up to the current 92 Octane that I have it on now.

Thanks

Says it is designed for higher octane fuel when you install the tow tune..

My programmer states that when you go to install the tune. I think the instructions has that too.

I am a fan of the tow tune as my regular tune (I get better gas mileage with this tune than I do with the performance one)... I don't recall seeing, but likely just missed the need for high octane fuel, but that being said, I run 87 and have had no issue with pinging, etc.. Try it out.... see what you think.

Thanks for the responses. Will be trying it out on Monday over Snoqualmie pass....probably keeping the 92 Octane in it. Only problem bout being in WA is not being able to find the 93 octane gas to run it on the 93 Performance tune. Interesting to see if that makes any difference over 91 Perf Tune.

I'm curious about the 93 as well. I noticed a difference between the 87 and 91 so I would imagine that there will be a difference here too. I know of one gas station in Denver that has 93 octane and it's like $4.00 a gallon so I don't think I will try it anytime soon.

Always forward never straight sometimes upside-down!
