psc problem

OK....so I was stupid today and decided to take the Jeep off road after i had a fewssss.
It has 35's and a 3.5 lift.
So i go down this trail that was really nothing and get to the end and think...."man that was gayular." I should do some dounuts just to make it a lil cooler.....After about 12 thousand dounuts i reallize that the power steering is being gay....Not working...checked the fluid and a lil low....just below the low line.
I filled it up and still gayness...any thoughts????

Please help

Yeah, no more ssss for you!

As for your gay Jeep, my first thought would be you over-heated the fluid during the sequence of spinerettes. Did it improve after cooling off?

I watched a buddy blow up the pump after revving it a lot when stuck in the mud. Buy a new pump with all the money you save not drinking so much

Your use of the word "gay" as a reference to mechanical trouble is a bit disturbing to me, like you may have some under lying closet issues you need to pan out.

That aside, doing repetitive donuts is a sure fire way of burning up a PS pump, but then if you had been a sober driver, you might have remembered that or at least 12k times of going around and around like a cheap teacup ride wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining.

I say go hit up the guys over at PSC as they know their stuff when it comes to steering systems.

And next time leave the Jeep parked if you are or have been drinking cause drinking and driving is well.........just gay!

I just hope this trail you're referring to is one that you own. I mean, we as wheelers are catching a lot of flak for not treading lightly as of late. Ask the Northeast guys.

As far as the steering goes, if it's kept at full lock under load then it can burn up.

Well, Lets just say that I'm am terribly disappointed in myself. I mean, I'm always the one that drives 1/2 mile a hour, barely idling in 4 low, down a trail cuz I don't want to break my beloved Jeep. Then I do something dumb like this. Well, I guess if you look at the bright side, I get to up grade to a PSC pump now?!...

By the way, It was on private land with permission.

I thought the OP had beef with Larry. Im starting to think in JKO terminology, could be good or bad.

btw Racer83l - from nintendo - up down up down left right left right b a b a start. = ESP off (or 30 lives) = Donuts.

Yeah, @
202hp at the crank(prob 35hp at the wheels) + 35" tires + 3.23 baby gears makes it very difficult to do doughnuts.

Step 1: ESP off
Step 2: 1st gear, clutch in(6spd trans)
Step 3: steering wheel turned to full lock
Step 4: rev up to about 3000, 3500 RPM's
Step 4: Dump clutch(side step it(slide foot off clutch at very fast rate))
Step 5:=Doughnuts, Burnt power steering pump, Possible jail time, Very pissed spouse, Marriage counseling

Step 6: Buy 8 million flowers for wife to smooth over the fact that you now have to spend $500 to upgrade to PSC pump and reservoir or spend $100 on factory crap that will break again.

Step 7: Don't be stupid, Don't drink and drive

No, I was running all stock steering. Now I am looking at upgrading the stock pump to a PSC high volume pump, reservoir, and some sort of aftermarket fluid cooler.

I would like the whole kit and kabootale but I aint gots the cheese. So I figure I'll just upgrade what I can right now

Make sure you get the "trail/street" kit rather than the "Extreme" kit. Just remember that donuts are not a good idea with Hydro Assist either
