Custom cage?

I'm wanting to install a custom cage in my JK. I see Gen Right makes one. Is anyone running one of these? I'm still wanting to still run a the hard top and a soft top as well!
Or would it be better to have someone custom make one?

Brave Motorsports is working on some kits now. Here is an idea of what they've built so far.

About four years ago I had a through dash hard and soft top compatible cage fabbed by a shop (NorCal). $3500 with frame tie ins. Probably worth looking around your area at shops with experience for comparison to the Genright.

Unless you are going to do it your self a custom cage is generally going to cost more and take longer to install. My buddy that is a fabricator generally recommends to either buy one that is already laser cut and bent like the genright cage or to get it already welded up from them and spend the extra on freight as it will save you money vs the welding and assembly in a shop.

Study the different designs and see if you think they meet your needs. Keep an eye on head clearances and you should be looking at seats and a 5 point harness to go with the cage to keep you in place.

Some build info here:

All 2", how much does it weigh? What thickness did you use?

The only part that isn't 2" are the seat tie ins, grab handles and windshield bars. It's all 1/8" wall thickness. Based on our estimate of amount of tube used vs what we took out we figure it only gained around 200 pounds

I agree with this. My was totally custom, and it was rather time consuming. Starting with a kit an modifying is probably was easier and faster.
