Front end shake

My 2008 4 door has started to shake in the front end when the breaks are applied. I have 33s on it. Has anyone else come across this? One repair shop told me I just need heavy duty rotors to stop the shake.

Your front rotors are warped. You can either try to have them turned, or just replace them. In my experience better rotors cost more money, but spending more money does not guarantee a better rotor.

On my work truck I just buy the cheapest rotors I can find. The salt during the winters desurfaces them and I know come spring it will need pads and rotors. I do my own work, but if you are going to pay a shop then ask about their parts and labour warranty. Last time I checked the dealer would give a 2 year parts and labour. I don't believe in machining them anymore. The rotor will just be thin and warp again. As with any brake job make sure everything is in good shape when it's done.

You need new rotors, nothing "heavy duty" though. However, I would suggest buying a higher quality rotor than the generic parts store brand.
