PCM Manual vs Automatic programming

I have just completed installing a 6 speed manual transmission in my 07 Wrangler. I had the 42RLE automatic that shredded on the road. I found the 6 speed for $500 which was a better deal than the $2400 rebuild for the flaky auto.

all in it was probably $1500 to do the swap, adding the clutch, flywheel, hydraulics, shifter and console, and I bought new drive shafts though I didn't need to.

I know the PCM is throwing all kinds of error codes now that it isn't seeing any of the sensors from the auto.

Can the PCM be flashed with a manual transmission firmware? All refurb and reprogrammed PCMs I see online all say they are universal so I'm guessing dealers are blowing smoke when they tell me i need a manual PCM. The harness is all the same it just doesn't use c4 on the manual because that's where all the automatic controls are.

can anyone tell me for sure?

you need a manual PCM and some options programed into the TIPM. I can hook you up with a used 6 speed ecu with your vin programed in along with the TIPM reflash.

That would be great. You have a core charge or should I throw my auto PCM on ebay. I see a ton of them on there but not many manual.

We could take your auto ECU in as the core. I like to keep spare ecu's around just in case. contact me directly for pricing and info.
