Bent Driver Side Axle

So I got back from Gulches ORV on Sunday. On Wednesday, I'm driving around and I here this familiar squeak coming from the driver rear.

I jacked up the rear end, put in gear and watched as the tire and caliper wobbled back and forth.... yep my axles bent again.

How difficult is it to bend a Chromoly axle shaft? I would suppose its pretty difficult to do since I dont see anybody cussing about it. 2 wheeling trips, 2 bent axles... same side too.

Couple odd things though.... I dont recall any real wheel spin or hard drops while at Gulches and it didnt start squealing until tuesday.

So how many of you have bent chromos and how often?

Factory shafts yes, Chromolys no. I figured the the chromolys would break before they bent to the extent of being deformed. Guess the can bend?

Thats what it looks like... Is there anything that could cause the bend? like a bent housing. Just odd that I bent the same side twice in 7 months...

I have bent one stock shaft and two chromolly's. Two on the right and one on the left. The chromolly's were both replaced under warranty from the manufacturer.

They claim that the first set wasn't treated properly. I won't drag them under the bus until I bend one of the replacements.

Called Superior and its handled. New one goes out as soon as my current one get there.

I love great customer service! not too mention they had some of the best "hold" music of any company I've called.

Kind of sucks they made you send your bent one first though. That means the Jeep is down till you get the new one.

Not really, I kept my old set, the passenger side went to LowRange4x4 after they blew their stock one at gulches. I'll just slip the old driver side in. Little more work, but I'm not complaining.
