painting soft top windows

So my windows are pretty scrathed up anyway so I was wondering if I could scotch them up and spray paint them with some of that flexible plastic paint stuff. You think it would work or just chip off?

I used to race rc cars and the paint we used on the lexan bodies would never come off no matter how you flexed it.

Also is it legal to paint the back windows black in california?

On a side note it is 115 outside right now and the a/c doesn't work that good with no carpet
