To snork, or not to snork

Well, not so much the not to snork, but more which one?
AEV, or River Raider?
I love the look of the RR and the fact that it is aluminum.
But, it appears that there is no way to run dual batteries.
Am I wrong?

The AEV is plastic But less expensive.
Can it be used with aftermarket flares/flat fenders without looking retarded?
Obviously it can be done with dual batteries.

What other options do I have? (Fuck no to anyone that suggests Volant )

hai.

I have a Safari snorkel. It flows alot of air (seems to have sufficient airflow for the turbo diesel, so the v6 should be a walk in the park for it). But it means you are restricted with what flares you use, and you also have to cut into your flare in order to fit it.

If I could do it again, i'd go AEV. They use a particular plastic which allows it to take a hit and not break too easily. Yes its a bit ugly but the plastic fantastic theme works with the JK and all its plastic bits and if it means so much to you, paint it body colour it will look normal. Plus it does not fill up your engine bay, saves you room for extra stuff - and stuff is good!

Goodluck with your purchase!

PS: Sorry if some parts don't make too much sense, typing @ work so a bit haphazard.

Which reminds me, If you snork make sure you extend your breather tubes. River Raider sells an awsome kit which interconnects them all and they end up in your factory breather box!

Planning on doing that even before the snork.

No doubt they are #1 on my list, but can I run two batteries if I go that route?
I suppose in theory, I could make a bracket to hold an optima under the body by the frame rails.

Just raise your breather tubes and forget about the snorkel. I'd love to snork, but I don't feel there's enough options and I don't do enough submarining to warrant the purchase right now of what is available. I like the RR setup, but costly. I like the price on the AEV, but too ugly for me. Right now, I'm just raising the tubes and waiting for something to really jump out at me.

AEV only because of price point, dual batt's, and cheeper to remove. Kenny makes some good product and he is a stand up guy but I found the AEV for $329 shipped brand new compared to $800+ painted to match.

One benefit is that you will get better performance with a snork and a drop in filter then you can any CAI on the market.

Go AEV. They don't look that bad.

I too have an AEV. But River Raider is a great company and if they made a rotating top I would probably switch to them. I like the freedom of spinning the ram air top to face the back so I can make splashes every now and again.
