Crank shaft clicking?

Hey!

Since 2-3 weeks I have this click click noise when I let off the gaz pedal.
I thought it was related to the wheels rolling, but nope.
When the engine is hot (normal hot) on P or N, I give it some gaz, and as soon as I let go there is this clicking that appears from under the Jeep.
Seems to come from the front of the Jeep, behind the engine.
(hence the crank shaft theory)
At higher RPM you dont hear it (obviously) but around 2k/1.5k it's very clear...
Does not sound good...

I also found out the engine oil pan and filter are dripping oil...
Squeezed gasket after hitting a rock under the pan?
But then what about the filter?

The Jeep goes to the dealer tuesday.
I put oil back in yesterday, it was 1/4 inch under the "safe" zone on the dip stick.
Clicking still there.

I wonder if it's safe to still drive it until next week...?

Anyone have an idea??

I'm not any help but mne makes the same noise.

The guy I bought it from said the oil had just been changed and I took his word. Drove it back from Houston and around town until I heard the noise. When I checked the oil it didn't register on the dipstick at all.

Immediately took it for a change and dealership is on the list.

Went to the dealer today.
The "engine guy" was not there, but another tech said it sounds like a valve lifter or something "internal"...
Maybe some valve that broke loose.

The Jeep goes back wednesday.

To be followed...

Well, for future reference, after 22h of work, it was the bearings on the push rod shaft.
They also replaced the cracked manifold.

Very nice job, and it cost me only 94$, everything else under warranty.

Man am I happy to drive the Jeep again after 7 days with my mom's Kia Soul...

Let's ride!
