tools for installing corners and armor etc...

I am about to do rear corners on my rig and had to dig up and dust off my 1980's vintage tools from when I installed roof racks onto Japanese beer cans (called subarus).

Perhaps there are other options these days but UniBits worked better than regular drill bits because they did not tear up the holes as easily.

Edit: Forgot to mention the automatic center punch. It's better than trying to whack it with a hammer and center punch.

I also prefer using the air drill in this application but that might just be old-fart-personal-preference.

This rivnut tool didn't break the bank:

Dang. Wish I'd known about that tool before I bought the multi-hundred-dollar golly-whopper.

PM sent.

It arrived the other day and seems well built, especially for the money. I guess it's the bits that need to be strong enough to squish as they pull. We'll see soon enough if it works or breaks under stress.

Yeah, I did many subarus that way and with a 1/4" air ratchet. I'm old and lazy now.
