Anyone ever cut off the shaft bumper on Fox Resi Shocks?

This is my current set up for the last 3 years:

I am now getting ready to install Fox 2.0 Resi shocks that are .11" less compressed length than that Bilstein, so I'll have even more shaft showing on the new shock at this state of compression. Well except for this rubber bumper on the fox shaft which is just under 1/2" thick and I think will limit my compression by that 1/2"...

Does anyone ever cut these rubber things off? I don't really see why I'll need it when this new shock is compressed I'll be on the bumpstop metal cup.

Its there to protect the shock eye i would leave it. If you're that worried about losing 1/4 inch of up travel then by all means cut it off but to me that small amount you'll lose is trivial. My vote is leave it alone and saf yourself a half hour of messing around.
