Moparded license plate holder

Despite much eye rolling, and eyebrow raising of the "you're kidding me with this redneck kludge" variety. Our local jeep guru and welding maestro humoured me and affixed plate A to hinge B as a solution to my tailgate less escapades. Its better than my zip tie antics.

This is a hinge with snipped pins from my brief crawler concepts ultra carrier (now on Mrs Gnarlyswines jeep).
Replacement bolt means a lot tighter than stock so no chance of the plate swinging freely.

I like the ingenuity.

but why not just wrap it around the corner armor w/ self tappers or rivets

hey , Asmmns
has anyone actually done this on a JKU? I have seen and even sggt this over the years and yet - yeah, I searched - I find few instances of any jk sporting the old 'wrap and tap' license plate like cj and YJ owners do...just maybe need to search better , maybe I do ....

I thought about that but I had the hinge spare so thought I'd experiment. Just need to rig up a mechanism now to flip it open on the toll bridges.
