Trailers and Off-Road Trailer Build ?s

I've got a couple of questions regarding trailers and off-road trailer build.

Currently I have a 5x10 AND a 5x14 all steel utility trailer with expanded metal sides and drop gate. I need to do something with one of these trailers, but can't decide on which one to keep. The 5x10 has some small features that I like over the 5x14 trailer. However, they aren't anything that I could have done for not too much costs. Reason tells me to keep the 5x14 for more options for size of loads but I like the 5x10 for its lighter weight and already having the features I like.

Any thoughts on which one you would keep?

In regards to an off-road trailer, what size do you think is best? I thought about taking the 5x14 trailer (since I believe it's axles and lug pattern will fit my stock take off wheels/tires with some fender modifications) and turning it into an off-road trailer. I would obviously want to cut it down, but I wasn't sure how long to leave it. Also, how wide? It is 5 foot wide on the inside of the trailer so with the wheels, I would suspect the overall width to be near 7 foot (outside to outside of wheels).

When I had my 416 I put the wheel base the same as the jeeps. That way I pretty much knew where the tires were going to be at.

The question is how much stuff do you have and what do you want to use the trailer for? Do you want to add a RTT to it?

Break out all the stuff that you want to haul with it on the garage floor and see just how much space you need.

5 x 14 is huge. We have a M416 and it is perfect.
