Anyone running a filter wrap?

Hey guys, I recieved a free K&N filtercharger kit. The whole cold-air intake deal.

My questions is, does anyone run one of those pre-filter wraps? I bought one last night, the guy at Mopac was telling me that they are "hydrophobic."

I guess that means that they shed water. Anyway, I put it under the tap in the sink and sure as shit, the water beaded away.

I know this won't protect against the windshield deep crossing some of you guys like to do, but do you think it will help at least a bit? Its usually pretty wet and muddy around here this time of year, I am hoping it will help at least a little.

Any thoughts?

yeah ive been running the Outerwears pre filter on my Airraid for a couple of years now

it works pretty well at collecting dust, plus the filter itself gets less dirty, and its very easy to clean these things, i just throw it in the washer/dryer every couple of months and its as good as new
