those that removed their stock flares.

i yanked my rear flares tonight. on each side there are two holes. one is covered with tape and the other was once filled with yellow foamy looking stuff.

any idea what they are for? can i, or should i, fill them will some kind of filler foam before i do anything else?

you can see the tape covered hole, the black square toward the front. the other hole is near the rear and was half full of foam.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

Question PART TWO!

okay, so i wont be purchasing rear flares any time soon... so in the meantime i want to paint the well. can someone please explain to me the painting process of metal body parts? ie: what sand paper grit, primer, etc.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

You'll have to sand, prime, sand... until the finish is smooth and ready for paint. Then paint. But put some clothes on the back end. Why not put the rear fenders back on until you're ready for your new ones? I think the worst looking Wranglers I see are the ones without fenders. It just looks............. wrong.

When I took my flares off there wasn't even a piece of tape so...

I'm making some steel crusher corners w/ flares in the next couple months (hopefully), i got tired of ripping the plastic fenders off in the water

I understand the Jeep thing

i keep busting the rear clips off and then the fenders flop around enough to wear the paint down to the polished sheet metal.

maybe this will speed up my saving process to get aftermarket fenders.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

Those Warrior flares don't look too bad and the cost on them is way less than their competition. Maybe just get the rears for now?

Mikey if u are just painting the fender well? goto auto parts store get some maroon 3m scotch brite pads and scuff fender wells with it, then I would paint em with 3m or duplicolor bed liner. You arent looking to paint it white again are you? they are white already lol

im going to go to linex on tuesday to see how much they want to get the wells done. if its a reasonable price, im going to have them do it.

if they want too much, im going to go the auto store route. might even look into the herculiner... and yes, black, not white!

we will see.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

I did the exact same locations with a Herculiner kit... Only required scuffing it up... Quick swipe with acetone... And two rolled on coats... To touch it up I use rust oleum spray on Berliner.
