07 JK build...longarms, 40s, bumpers

This is a friends jeep I wanted to share. We've been working on it for the past few weeks and are finally getting close to where it needs to be.

2007 JK
This JK came factory with d44 rear, d30 front, 4.10 gears. He plans to upgrade the d30 to d44 and regear it soon.

Mods to date are:
Roughcountry 6" Longarm kit
Tom woods front and rear driveshafts
0.75" coil spring isolators
1.25" RC body lift
Artec front and rear truss
Artec inner C gussets
40" Nitto Mud Grapplers
17x10 fuel mavericks
1.75" spidertrax wheel spacers
Cut factory flares.

In process:
custom bumpers, hopefully we will have the front finished up in the next few days.

In the beginning....

First test drive

Update......
Here are a few finished photos.

The first thing we did was cut the factory flares

Once we got the front apart, we welded the axle tubes, truss, and inner C gussets

Painted and ready to go back in

Next was the rear truss and axle tubes

mocking up the front bumper

We cut the frame horns back several inches and then rewelded the mounts. They are also higher to compensate for the body lift.

All the pieces tacked together, finally looking like a bumper

Yeah, you guys do good work it looks like but your buddy picked a Rough Country suspension, no bueno. From the looks of it you could have went coil over, with skill you are showing. Probably should have waited until he got the D44 instead of sinking money into a D30 that is just going to be replaced.

Nice build save for the RC suspension and D30.

Thanks, we got the RC lift at 30 percent off retail with free shipping so we couldn't turn it down at that price. A true 4 link would have been great, but at double the cost it wasn't an option. The axles will be replaced but he's going to see how long the d30 and 44 will live. I'm sure at some point we will go with coilovers, but thats not in the budget right now.

Fuck all the haters.

FYI, people on this site typically don't like tall lifts, radius arms, 40s on 30s, or Rough Country Suspension components. I don't really either, but I'm not a dick that likes burning someone that just posted lots of pictures of the project they just finished.

That being said your rig looks good. Lose that drop pitman arm and do a flipped draglink and you'll be fine. Swap out the dirty thirty at some point in time.

In the future these tips might be helpful:
When your suspension starts to sag, swap out the springs and shocks for something of higher quality. When you bushings/joints wear out replace with Johnny Joints and higher quality urethane bushings.

Put pics of your rig on a public forum and it is open for critique and/or hate. That said, I don't think anyone here really was hating on it. Just kind of surprising that they are putting this much work in, have the skill to back it up and selected Rough Country components and a beefed D30 to run 40's. I think 6" lifts are fine for 40's and up as long as it is done right. The long arm RC is about $1500? 30% off is about $1050 for a long arm lift. Would be hard for me to pass on it too. It'll do well while it is brand new.

I have to believe if this rig goes wheeling and starts spinning shit it will start going through axle shafts and/or ring and pinions like crazy up front.

doing the artec truss but not raising the roll center seemed like an odd choice for that tall of a lift. looks sexy though

You forgot that the majority of them are web wheelers anyhow.

Guys, I'm needing somewhere to order a stinger, looking for 1.75" tube single bend with a wide radius die. Very similar to what poison spyder uses. Any recommendations? I have tubing, but no one around here can make the bend needed.
