Kinetic Recovery Straps/Snatch Straps - Which?

My 2"x30' tow strap that I use for pulling people when we have crappy conditions is just not the right tool. I want to get an ARB snatch strap, Bubba Rope, something to that effect.

Who's used what and how do you like it? Is one more likely to damage from abrasions than the other? Has yours broken or "stretched out" to where it's not a lot of good anymore?

Thanks

I've got ARBs. I wind up pulling people pretty often. My ARB snatch strap has lasted for 4 years. It is scuffed an worn enough that I carry a new one too.

I also have ARB tow straps and tree savers.

x2 on the ARB. I've used it several times - wash it off after, hang it to dry and throw it back in the bag for next time. I picked up a Bubba Rope a couple of years ago - wanted to try something different, but haven't ever used it.

Master pull super Yanker here. 7/8 x 20'.

Been yanked by more than one so I bought my own a few days ago. Now available in black.

Very smooth yank. Great for flat towing too. Awesome for snow wheeling.

If you manage to damage or break it ship it to them and they splice it and ship back for free.

The optional gear bag is really good too. 1/2 price when bought with a rope.

They run 25% off specials most holidays and you can google a 10% coupon on top of that.

Top quality product and service. They are local to me and I see them on the trail from time to time.

Does this have anything to do with you pulling a semi?

Bubba Rope is just freaking awesome.

I've got the ARB recovery strap and it works fine. But I pulled someone with a Bubba Rope and it was amazingly smooth. If I already didn't have so much recovery gear I'm running out of room I'd add one in a second.

I'm a JKO Reject

ASR KERR(kinetic energy recovery rope) is the best bang for the buck IMO. Bubba is great but quite pricy next to KERR rope.

Too much ice and snow in Denton? We lucked out here in Sulphur Springs.

Just reading for ideas.

I use the 33K pound ARB. It is stout, holds up well and does exactly what it should do.

bubba rope types are very good at recovery in mud, however, DO NOT use them for winch extensions, very dangerous in that usage.

None of the kinetic snatch straps should be used as a winch extension. Recovery 101

I ordered a ARB strap today, so that should be in for the next storm.

Anyway, here is one in use by Bthomas when we were out in this ice storm.

cool vid, does a snatch strap have an "elastic" characteristic? Where as a recovery strap is more of a "static" strap?

Snatch strap and recovery strap seem to both be used to mean elastic. I usually hear "tow" strap used for a static strap.
