New Eaton E locker

Looks like Eaton finally came out with a 4 pinion design for the Dana 44.

Article here: http://www.fourwheeler.com/news/new-...70-12-dana-44/

If this is true then I know exactly what I'll be getting.

Nice. I have been running my rear Eaton E-Locker for 2 years on 38's and it has worked perfect. Just sold my Jeep and will be looking at these for my new Jeep build.

It says it's for 30 spline.

Rubi front and non-rubi rear are 30sp.

There is already a 2-pin non-rubi rear locker, but if I read that story right, the new 4-pin locker will be used for both?

weird, i always thought rubicon axles could never accept conventional 44 carriers. because last i heard the only aftermarket locker that a rubicon can use is a 35spline ARB...please correct me if i'm wrong. For example, I have a prorock44 thats built like anyother 44 that came before it (not counting jeep's own 44) i can take any carrier and toss it in there. a rubicon 44? not so much.

buddy of mine picked one up with the thought of using it in the front rubi 44 housing but that was a no go The bearing from the master overhaul kit didnt fit the eaton locker, inside diameter of bearing was larger that the carrier. He tried to find another bearing to fit but wasn't able too. He's gonna put it in his non rubi rear axle

Yeah I think the new Eaton Elocker 4 is specifically made for the 30 spline non-rubi D44 if I'm not mistaken.

Rubi axles are 32 spline.

Regular JK D44 is 30.

There probably is a bearing that fits, but it wouldn't work out anyways...

Front rubi 44 is 30sp
Rear rubi 44 is 32sp
Rear non-rubi 44 is 30sp

He was saying it did not work in the 30sp rubi 44 front, so he is using it in the non-rubi 30sp rear.

He was saying it did not work in the 30sp rubi 44 front, so he is using it in the non-rubi 30sp rear.

So I take it Eaton had not done a 32 spline Rubi replacement, or matched the ARB 35 spline?
