2011 2-door 3.73 and 35" tires.... good match?

I have a 2011 2-door sahara with 3.73 gears. I was wanting to run 35" tires and wanted to know if this would bog down my engine too much. I'm not planning on drag racing it, but don't want to have to lock out my 4x4 to start my jeep on a hill either!

You're going to hear yes and no. Really depends on what you expect from your jeep. 50% will say its ok, 20% will say you need 4.56s, another 20% will say 4.88s. And the 10% saying 5.13/5.38 or you need a V8 for 35s.

How do you like your 33" and what gears are you running? I am wanting a stocky look and only go off road a couple times a year for fun and for about 2-3 weeks a year I'm in the woods/fields hunting. I won't be doing any rock crawling, just want a capable Jeep that won't get stuck in the mud every other day with the Duelers. Thanks

3.73's and 35's aren't even a decent combination on a 2012+.

I wanted 4.10's when I had 285/70R17's.

I have 285 Duratracs, wheel spacers, budget boost, and 3.73s with the factory limited slip in the rear. Love my set up and it would work great for what you are describing.

I'm running 35" tires with 3.73 gears and have had only one issue doing this, and that is at highway speeds you will kick in and out of overdrive if its and automatic tranny. Standards don't seem to have to many problems from what I've heard. Mine is a auto 4 door sahara with 35/12.50R17 btw.

Thanks, it is an auto tranny, but a 2-door. I don't have a lot of weight on it either, so I think it'll work out fine for what I'm looking for. Thanks again for the help.

I have an 08 2-dr with the auto. With 4.10's, and 32's, it couldn't get out of its own way.

Where I live, it is rolling hills. If you live in a flat area, 3.73's and 35's might be do-able. Just depends on how much you are willing to live with.

Eventually, I put a supercharger on it while still on 32's and 4.10's. Then it was a rocket! Then went to 37's, and quickly re-geared to 5.38's. Now it is fun again.
