Oil Level info request.

Anyone here running the stock D30 with ARB Locker and ARB diff cover? I am looking for oil level on the dipstick. I have the newer style so there is no marking and when the shop put in the lockers and covers they did not mark the full level.

I have 4.88's
ARB Lockers and ARB covers

I don't know if the ARB Locker changes the amount of oil needed or not and my pinion seal is leaking so I have no idea what normal level is.

Thanks,
James

I just looked at my directions from ARB for the Dana 30 and it says fill until oil comes out the hole, turn at least two full turns and then top up. Both for stock or ARB covers.

Talked to ARB they said full level should be at about the bottom of the axle tube. But with ARB covers if you fill till it comes out of the fill hole you are way over full as the fill port is at the top of the cover.

You are to mark the dipstick yourself. Using the stock cover fill hole as reference. Mark it 4" down on dipstick. My measurement includes the bolt head of the dipstick. Thats what mine is.

Yea sadly the shop that installed my gears and lockers, dropped the ball on several things Jeep has been back for bad seals, still has a bad seal and several other problems. So it is no surprise they did not mark the dip stick for me and of course they tossed all the stock parts so I can not do the comparison.. Shop came highly recommended from 3 Jeep forums and turns out they have some issues that no one chose to speak about until someone complains. Either way I have the oil issue figured out thanks for the assistance. Going to move on to the next problem.

Thanks
James

Are you having other issues with the ARB?

No. The issues was with the complete lack of quality done by shop personnel. had a truss system installed at the same time as all this work and had bolts installed backwards that caused rubbing and binding issues, They knew I had a 4 hour drive home and said it was ready to go, the steering was way out of align and the steering wheel way off center really bad. No issues with a product just the way products were installed.
