Best Tuner Question?

I just recently bought a used 2012 JK unlimited with 15k miles. i put a 2.5" RCX lift and 33" Terras on it and now the tranny shifts funny. Im assuming its becasue the tires size is off and needs to be changed. What tuner does everyone run on these jeeps and will it correct my issue?

The easiest solution is the AEV pro cal. It will take you 30 seconds to fix that issue with one of these.

I run the Diablosport Trinity, I like it a lot. I had a Superchips Flashpaq, sold it when I supercharged the JK becasue Ripp required a Diablo to install their tune. I ran the Diablo for about a week before I actually installed the SC, I think their performance tune was better than the Superchips performance tune.

I also like the way you can easily play with the shift points under different throttle loads.

I run the DS trinity.

Actually it has pissed me off a few times. I've had to overnight the PCM to them one time cuz their tuner messed up my PCM. left me immobile for almost a week, cuz they have no customer support over the weekend. got that all fixed up. running 91 tune and throttle booster, which really helps actually, and speedo cal. got worse MPG.

Then switched to 87 octane and MPG tune, with throttle boost, hard to tell a big difference between the 91 and MPG tune to be honest. and havent really seen a big difference in MPG either.

and more recently, as in 3 days ago, took it to the dealer so i put it back to stock, got done at dealer, flashed it back to MPG tune, now i have no steering wheel audio controls and my compass is no longer displayed. so they are supposedly working on a fix for this. call them up and they were clueless. so we'll see. at least it's driveable.

not sayin dont buy it, but $600 is alot for what i REALLY use it for, which is to adjust my speedo and the throttle response. that alone has woken it up a bit, gets rid of that lag off the line. but, i run with top off, doors off, doors on, top on, top on/doors off. all kinds of combos...and i've always been around 16-17 mpg with or without the tuner. So, is the thing really helping? who knows...

runnin 35" falken rocky mountain ATS, 3.73 gears, auto. BTW.

no noticeable 'OMG' fuel mileage increase.

trans still shifts funny like it always has. kinda half shifts or somethin between 2nd and 3rd gear...pisses me off. but, guess i just live with it. kinda scared to mess with the tunes any more cuz of it messin my PCM up. but, they did fix it. just sayin...its a PITA to have to deal with.

I have the DS Trinity. Bought it right when it came out for the JK so I have had it a while.

The touch screen tends to stop working occasionally which is dissappointing. Lately Diablo has focused all of their attention to the 3.6s so the 3.8 crowd gets left out which really bothers me.

Other than that, if you need to do hard core tuning (I have an Avenger SC) you will need a diablo trinity/intune but if you just want to adjust for gears and tire pressure look at cheaper alternatives.

I used a procal to when I fixed my tire size… Worked fine. Then I regard, and now the trans is acting up. Started the second I used the procal to adjust gear size…

I have emails into AEV but have yet to receive a response…

I just put the AEV Procal on my '14 last Friday and has help the thing out pretty well. It shifts better and the fuel economy according to the dash has jumped up 3 mpg. Personally I would have went with the Superchip Flashcal but they don't work on the 2014s yet.

I think im leaning towards the superchips flashpaq but superchips site doesnt say it supports 2012+ yet. I can probably just get the 3870 and update it via the internet.

DiabloSport

We have thousands of happy JK owners who are running the trails and the roads all over the world. If you want to get the "Power You Can Feel" step up and get the DiabloSport Trinity. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks

I love DS. I have a predator with a custom tune on my srt8 jeep. I dont want to drop $600 on a tuner just to change tires size and install an 87 octane tune. I would get the DS in-tune but it says it doesnt support 2012+??

I have been looking into the Aeroforce gauge. How does that work into this discussion? Is it more of a display than tuner?

I used the AEV Procal and it worked fine on my 2012, then I just recently went to the Superchips Flashpaq 3870 and I have been really happy. Noticeable increase in power (91 tune). For the price difference between the AEV and Superchips Flashpaq I would definitely recommend the Superchips

The first time you use it you need to connect it to the PC. That is the only update I needed. Took about 25 minutes to complete.

I've got the Diablo in tune on my 2014. Running 87 octane tune with 10% throttle boost. Noticeable throttle response on when on interstate doing 70 I can average between 24.5 and 26 mpg.

I don't have a 12, but run Hypertech on mine.

I've actually been to the Hypertech facility, seen how they tune their vehicles and talked to them about their tuning methods.
