3.6L PORTED THROTTLE BODY

Hi guys,

Anyone on this forum using the Modern Muscle Performance ported throttle body for the
3.6 liter pentastar?

What sort of performance gains did you see?

Mileage?
Horsepower?

Was it worth the money?

It was popular for a while on the 3.8's, then the bigger bore stock replacement was popular for a bit.

I haven't seen any info on one for the 3.6

I ported the throttle body on my turbo subaru with a dremmel tool. There was a noticeable improvement in throttle response. Don't know if there was any hp gain. I wouldn't pay that much, it's not that hard to do yourself. Just don't get too close to the part where the throttle plate closes.

There is usually a see-saw of affects with something like this. While you may gain "throttle response" you can lose critical air speed at higher rpm and drop maximum horsepower. Or your torque curve can be altered one way or the other..

in other words, whatever you see "gained" at one part of drivability, will likely cause a drop on another part [hp, max tq rpm, mpg, etc].
