Jk 44 gear questions.

Hey all. Newbie style questions.

Has anyone put rubicon JK44 gears into a regular JK 44? I notice they sell two different gearsets, rubi and non. Any vodoo to this? tricks etc?

I already have the JK44 rear with 3.73 gears in it, and the rubi 4.10's under the bench so it's just a who has experence tossing in the gearset, and anthing above a regular install to be considered?

Gears aren't that expensive. Labor to install costs more than the gears.

You can buy new front/rear gearsets with overhaul kits for $550 shipped. Labor costs usually run at a 10 hour job.

Why would you regear to 4.10s? The only application that I could think of that would make sense would be an 07-11 6 speed on 32s or smaller, or a 12+ on 33s or smaller?

The axle is for my WJ. I have the axle, and the gears were donated. The front standard rotation WJ D30 is geared to 4.10.

The labour doesn't concern me. I work in a auto repair / fab shop. We've done a setup or two.

I'm asking to save a buck. lol. If they simply don't work oh well, but if they do even better. It's why I'm asking for someone who has attempted this swap.

I understand that gears are different. The Rubi locker is offset and the axle shafts are different lengths. The non-Rubi has equal length shafts. I believe that between the Rubi and non-Rubi rings, one is thicker than the other.

You could call a sponsoring vendor here, and they could answer your question in short order.
