DIY Dual Battery Kit from Genesis Offroad

By popular demand, we are now offering our dual battery kit as a DIY kit. We know there are some guys out there who have unique applications, or would just prefer to do all the wiring themselves. If you have the time, the tools, and the knowledge to hook up a dual battery system, hey, that's awesome! You'll still need a place to put the batteries though! This kit comes with our heavy duty battery tray and the top lid with NO electronics installed, along with all the related hardware you will need to get the tray installed. You can pick your own smart isolator, or simply wire the batteries in parallel. The lid will come with the wire grommets installed, but without the smart isolator, boost button, power and ground bus bars, wires, and G Screen port. Note that this is simply a bare version of our production kit, so it will have 6 pressed-in studs where the components are normally mounted. If those are not needed, you can remove them using a press, or just hammer them out. You can also relocate them elsewhere on the tray to fit your needs.

Our tray fits all year models of the JK, but you do need to specify your model when ordering. The '07-11 models require a short extension cable to relocate the evap solenoid.
It also fits Hemi and LS engines.
You can't see it in this picture, but there is a large heavy duty gusset on the bottom side of the tray to give it a lot of strength and rigidity. I like to build things overkill.

Here's the bare lid exactly as it ships. The lion head logo adds 10HP* too.
*Not really.

This is all the hardware you'll need to install our tray. You get the hoses and hose clamps to relocate the evap solenoid, 3 rubber caps to cover the bolt threads on the firewall so they don't poke your batteries, and bolts & washers to hold the lid down to the tray.

This is the extension cable to relocate the evap solenoid (the do-hickey that controls your evap canister under the Jeep) for the 2007-11 JKs.

You can use any BRAND of batteries with our tray, just be sure to get the GROUP 34 size. That's the largest battery size that fits. Do NOT get a Group 34R - the R stands for reverse posts, so the positive and negative posts will be in the wrong position - get the regular Group 34. Your OEM battery will not fit. It is about a half inch too wide, and it's already a tight squeeze in there.

I'm a DIY guy myself, so I get it that some guys want to do it themselves. Hopefully this kit will help you out. However, if you decide that you would prefer to have a completely pre-wired kit that is all done for you right out of the box, well, that's what we're known for! Here is our fully assembled lid, just as you will see it out of the box. No assembly required.

It looks like a lot going on, but our kit is actually very easy to install. Essentially all you're doing is pulling out the stock plastic battery tray and putting our tray in its place. If you will actually read the detailed instructions, and if you know how to use a wrench, you can install this kit in a couple hours or less.
