Excessive Industries JKU GateKeeper tire carrier

Our GateKeeper Tire Carrier is designed for those of us who love to wheel, and push the limits of your Jeep and your own driving capabilities. By moving the spare tire into the cab of your Jeep, you gain so many different benefits. To start with, departure angle. By taking the spare off the back of your Jeep, if you do come off an obstacle steep enough to catch the rear bumper, you won’t be getting hung up on that spare tire. With that being said, the second benefit is just that, not catching the spare on anything and bending your tire swing into the tub. This will help avoid body damage in extreme wheeling conditions. Third, it provides better weight distribution. By moving the spare tire over the rear axle, you move the weight forward in your vehicle enabling a more balanced and predictable ride. For the JKU’s, another benefit is that the storage space still available becomes more of a concealed compartment. Once the carrier is installed, you can stow away all your bring along items underneath it and then close the rear seats to keep everything secure and in place while your wheeling. This carrier is capable of handling up to a 37x13.50 tire without any modification to the interior of your JKU. If desired, the upper rear cross member can be modified and will allow you to carry a full sized 40” spare tire. It also works with both hard tops and soft tops, and even the “fastback” soft tops! Simply bolt down your hard top over the carrier and seal it up with the supplied gasket material. This keeps it just as easy as it was before to remove and reinstall your hard top.
All installation hardware is included.

Installation
Installing our GateKeeper tire carrier is as easy as installing your hard top! It bolts down to the same mounting locations as your hard top. We provide longer installation hardware for the added thickness of the mounting rails on the carrier.

Sorry about that, I forgot to put pricing! They are currently priced to move at $650 and free shipping! And yes, they will hold a 37 13.50. It is very tight, but doable. The rear seats remain fully usable.

Per the website listed above.....

"This Carrier is sold raw, but powdercoating is available! Please Call For Details"

I really like the idea of this carrier & would like to see a pic of it outside the Jeep unmounted...
