VKS FAB SHORTY REAR BUMPER

VKSFAB SHORTY REAR BUMPER

Our Shorty rear bumper was designed for the Jeep JK owner that’s looking for a maximum departure angle along with aggressive looks. This bumper is one of the tightest fitting options on the market. Measuring from the tailgate it only extends 1 ½ – 2” to the end-most edge of the bumper. It also features an integrated 2” receiver that is miter cut to follow the lines of the bumper that offers easy access to the pin from the underside. It is built from 3/16″, 1/4" and ¾” A36 American made steel and is CNC cut, formed and MIG welded to perfection in-house. It also comes in at a light weight 28lbs.

I assume the hitch isn't rated, but do you believe it will handle the max stock capacity of 3500 pounds?

Correct, it is not rated. As far as its max capacity that's difficult to say. The receiver tubing is welded to the outer face, inner face and bottom of the bumper. It's also gusseted horizontally 14" across the the bumper from the receiver to the inside face. So its properly reinforced but not crazy overkill because we wanted to keep it light weight.

Would it be at all possible to make a one off version that is more narrow (for those of us with a comp cut)?

VKS is like an addition. First an offset track bar bracket, then a prerunner front bumper - I should have asked for a package deal... Free custom strut tower brace with each custom rear bumper order?

Thanks guys! We really like it too, we've go one at the powdercoater right to go on our shop rig. The first run of 10 are almost bought up, looks like I need to get another batch cutting.

Yeah, we could do that. If you're interested send us an email with the width you are looking for and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks for the comment. Ours is $200 more. Ours is tighter fitting to the body and has internal gusseting for the receiver as well as the bumper body, and also has a better departure angle. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of CC parts, I'm just pointing out the differences that reflect pricing on this particular part.

And how many bumpers, can say they were welded by an artist/magician?

How much of the rear cross-member did you take out?... all of it? And did you do any welding or frame reinforcement?

JK Vick- Any additional advice/ recommendations regarding install?

Pretty close to pulling the trigger on this... if she allows me to keep exceeding our monthly budgets.

Beautiful work.

Beautiful work.

The entire crossmember comes out, 3.75" cut off of the frame rails. Install didn't take too long. Would have been faster with a plasma cutter, but we used sawzall and cut off wheel.

I did just install this bumper as well!! It's pretty awesome if your into minimal departure angle. It was scary to cut the frame on a 2014, but my brother had no problem helping me get through the fear.

I have some pictures of the install but having trouble uploading them...
