injen evolution intake and ram scoop

Hey guys, just wanted to show the intake system that injen technology just released. Its their new Rotomold kits, they used my vehicle for R&D and also to show off at the 2014 SEMA show.

This kit comes with intake only and the Ram scoop is sold separately.
Great kit and easy to install. +7hp and +6tq I will get more info as I get it.

How much water does it inhale when you hit a puddle on the street?

What type of water rejection does this system employ? Looks like an express lane to hydrolock unless they employ some type of extra baffling?

here is the intake with no scoop for the 3.6L.

The photo I have posted up top is their first production prototype.
it has been updated with a stainless steel screen cover on the front of the scoop.

The scoop is narrowed down and squashed at hood line, allowing enough air to travel yet minimizing heavy debris from entering. It has a drain plug in the box and also have a hydro-shield/pre-filter sold separately.

I will get an update photo and also have some more questions answered.

Dry super web/nano fiber filter

To each their own but to me that thing is ugly as fuck and sure seems to be like an anti-snorkel.

And all that to get 7hp?

Eh. Do they have dyno numbers on the webpage or are we talking butt dyno?

Hey by the way your Jeep looks cool as hell aside from that intake. But like said above the price was right plus you got to test something new.

According to my wifes turbo'd ford fusion owners manual she can get 8 hp by simply going from 87 to 93 octane fuel...I've tried it a couple times and cant tell shit for difference. For me to spend any money on HP...I better be able to feel it on my butt dyno and I highly doubt you can feel 7 hp unless you add it to a 5 hp go kart...

Looks like the engine bay was crammed so tight that the filter box had no choice but to leave town and take up residence on the flare. To each his own.

Kinda curious to see all the engineering that went into this "hydro-shield/pre-filter sold separately" thingy. I'd ask you to show some pics of the thing opened up so that we could see what all is inside... but I don't really care. I wouldn't use it.

Dyno-results... Oh my! Waiting anxiously... Oh wait... No I'm not.

It was a matter of time Injen went from sport compact to trucks to etc.

It's like a mole on the Jeep, I hope it's not malignant.

Looking at the engineering for the water/debris issues would be interesting.

Seven (7) HP on the dyno with 5 ft-lbs of torque would not be anywhere close for me to spend 300+(much less 100). I understand the dyno states one thing and down the road at 60mph is another.

That reminds me of my LS1 days when these guys would go out and buy a high priced MAF (Mass-Air Flow sensor) for 350 (closer to 500) (or shorty headers for over 800... ) and gain a whole 2 hp on the dyno much less .05 seconds/.01mph faster at the drag strip.

Cold air induction has it's place, but in my jeep is not one of them.
