Question due to the high closures of dealerships....

Do you think they are going to be willing to unload their stock of parts?
ie. Mygigs?
Anyone have any concrete information with an actual dealership that received the phone call to close?

There is a post here with all the closing dealers, they are not happy and not wanting to give deals.

Whatever they are stuck with at the end of the day, they will sell to other dealers or return them back to their local PDC. Don't expect big discounts from the parts department.

Lightbulb

Well i know many people are upset. But until this government gets rid of unions that are completely unnecessary and have extreme amounts of power... dealerships will continue to close.

Regardless, if these dealerships are businessmen, they might as well start early to relinquish thier stock. In a week or two, the market will be flooded with excess material which will drive the prices even that much lower.

Angry Can't hurt to try.

Try calling stealers that are on the hit list. There is plenty of profit built into the MSRP on parts. Stealers can knock quite a bit off, and some of the lame-ducks may be willing to grab any sales they can. It'll be on a case by case basis. You are probably gonna be outa luck on the mygig tho. That's still a hot item.

Here is the list of stealers who are going down:

it is so funny that people think there is going to be a fire sale on inventory. the dealerships are losing the franchise - chrysler doesn't own the buildings. chrysler does not have the power to actually shut down a dealership. i have been offered 50% of the msrp many times in the past week and people act insulted when we say "no, we can't do that." we could buy them and run them through auction and get more than that. the level of some people's stupidity never ceases to amaze me. the last person that did that and was rude about it got the long walk all over our back lot and back around looking for the truck that we had for half off. surprisingly, we must have already sold it.

chrysler actually does not have the power to close the dealerships. chapter 11 is to restructure debt, not break franchise contracts. there are many many lawyers and many millions of dollars that will be used to stop this theft of hard earned businesses.

LOL, even if you were going to just dump everything, with product shortage, I am sure that some dealer that is not losing the franchise would pay a good price to take whatever you had to sell off of your hands...
