AEV PINTLERS OR RUGGED RIDGE

My buddy just got his new RUGGED RIDGE WHEELS IN SILVERin and for some reason he hates em but loves me SILVER AEV PINTLERS.He has 5 of the rims as where I only have 4 of my AEV's but wants to trade straight up. There more I look at the RR rims the more I like em. Plus I come out of the deal with a rim so I can run a full size spare once I buy a tire. DO YOU THINK IS WORTH IT?

I say it is not but it is all about what you like. If you like them better then the AEV then do it.

However, the Aev cost quite a bit more then the RR and they are actuall bead locks.

Here is a couple comments in the description of the RR I found funny

Stainless steel button-head socket cap screws around the perimeter of the outer wheel face give a great 3-piece look

Each wheel includes a UV-treated polished center cap that replicates a manual hub for that off road look

I say if you do the trade, ask for the 5th wheel and for him to buy the tire for it

The Pintlers are available non beadlock as well as beadlock, not sure which ones he's got?

The BS is slightly better on the RR rims, the price is fairly similar to the non beadlock Pintlers.

The little bolt head things on the RR rims are likely to end up trashed off-road.

It really comes down to what you want, I personally would not trade beadlock Pintlers for them, but it's up to you.

Oh, thanks Phil. I did not realize they had a non beadlock option.

Like he said, if they are the non beadlock then I suppose it is just what you prefer

I personally like the look of the RR wheels better, and as mentioned earlier, the backspacing would be a little better too. My only gripe might be the stainless bolt heads on aluminum wheels. I don't know how they would hold up on the wheels, but I know from working on trailers, stainless and aluminum don't get along very well, especially after being exposed to lots of road salt. I guess if they are made well though, it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Tell me it isn't so

I can't believe he's still here. Been caught out as a total liar is usually enough to send most people packing, to keep coming back and doing it shows a seriously deep rooted problem
