I'm looking into them vs. half-doors for my 2-door. Not sure about NY laws on the matter, and I advise anyone to check into their local laws on running them, as they may be illegal, especially if they don't have a mirror mount- Mark W.

I have the Element rear doors by Besttop. I got them so I could take all the doors off even with the kids. No fronts yet but I will probably be getting them this year. The rears are strong and I like the fact that you can buy the enclosure for them to make them a suitable 1/2 door.

A couple of your sponsors here sling the WP doors. Here's some shots of them. Retail lands under $300 a pair IIRC. American Made.

I am not sure if they are a sponsor but I am looking strongly at the Rancho tube doors. I like them because you can put the OEM mirror on them without a relocation bracket.

Stoopid NUB question. what does IIRC stand for? I've seen it used before but still don't know what the pluck it stands for.

I have the warriors and really like them. In no way are they perfect or give an "oem" look; however, they are functional and w/ a set of mirror location brackets I have never had a problem.

Sorry bout the lousy pic but its all I have right now.

Hey Guinness, can you leave your mirrors there when you put your OEM doors back on, or do they hit when they are opened?

Why in the heck would they design it so the back door where latching sits higher than the edge of the jeep? what a stupid design. Seems like it could easily be flush with the horizontal edge of the jeep?

Yeah, Jason, why were you such a dumb ass? j/k

My guess is they wanted to even out the look with the fronts...

I think it has something to do with the very small vertical space for the rear of the rear doors and the high location of the stock body mounted latch. It wouldn't bother me.

I never tried it but assume that as long as your limiting strap is hooked up you should be ok. I picked up an extra set of mirrors off a guy for $100.00 so I dont have to swap back and forth to the doors, just pull the bracket and presto.

The oem latch is too high. I dont think they could lower it and still get it to work. And the tube in question helps tie the latch in so I dont think you could eliminate it.

Like I said they dont look perfect but they work for me $$$ and function wise.

For those that have the store-bought tube doors, I need a favor.

If you would, look at the latch mechanism and see if there is a part number, manufacturer etc?
I am going to use cheesy gate latches until I can find some good latches that will work with the stock door pawl.

Thanks!

I just looked at the install PDF for the Or-Fab doors on Quadratec... those are EXACTLY the latches I have been looking for.

The ones for the TJ, I found... they are $85 a set from the hotrod places. The JK latches "look" a LOT cheaper so if I could find a part number, those would be sweet.

Unfortunately, with the latch systems that keep these doors at a good value as far as price goes, the tube has to run that high to allow us to have a place to actually put the handle. I'm sure we could work in a cable function latch to where we could drop the handle and straighten out the tube, but it'd skyrocket the price and with the popularity of our doors, we're extremely reluctant to push the pricepoint on them.

Also, look at the Rancho door picture, same thing, same reason. OR-Fab as well.

We have two handles that fit the JK. The locking and the non-locking. We make the non-locking in house, and the locking is a new one we were trying out that we purchase. I'll beat that $85 price point too.

We've been working on an accessory that does the same thing, as it has been heavily requested. I was actually doing some testing in Moab of a new bracket, and honestly I strongly disliked the factory mirror on the tube door. The stability and visibility of them was just less than great.

I also thought that it was unusually difficult to remove the mirrors on our 08 compared to doing so on our 07.

So the final version I am doing slightly different. Instead of removing the factory mirror from your door, we're going to build the bracket to accept a 97-02 TJ Wrangler Mirror. This allows you to keep the mirrors on both doors, and they seem to be more stable and sit up and out slightly more for better visibility out of the Jeep.

I should have this bracket finalized soon, and off to be photographed, announced, etc... I'll keep the board posted as they come available.

I no longer work with Warrior. I am now working with The FIRM.

Jason @ Warrior:
I know you said "soon" on the new product, but can you be a little more specific? I am also looking to buy 4 tube doors for my JK. I can be patient possibly if you have a reason for me too.
