Those of you running highly modified rigs

I'm talking about tires in excess of 37"
Heavy bumpers
Rails
Winch
Axles
Etc...
Have any of you guys ever scaled your jeeps to see the current weight?
Curious for towing purposes.

Might be sketchy towing the jeep with the wife's escalade. I can go 8300 max with it but when the jeeps 6000 and the trailer is 1500 I'm not leaving a whole lot of margin for a family of 5 with luggage. My crewmax pulls 10,000 but my first preference in driving 12 hours is doing it in a vehicle I can spread the kids out in 3 row seating.

You're going to push that Escalade too hard...It is miserable towing a gas engine vehicle, or even a diesel close to it's limits.

Close.

I'm at 5800 with a full tank and empty inside, no trail supplies.

I'm sure I'm pushin' 6000 when wheeling, especially with me (and any passengers) in the seat.

I pull my 2 door with my suburban it doesn't tow great but it does get the job done. I try to avoid the back Mountain roads and stick to the highway. And I would guess my 2 doors probably weighs somewhere around 5000 pound mark and the trailer is about 1400 .

I tow this thing around on an aluminum 10,000# GVWR aluminum trailer with a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with 268,000 miles. Went to Moab from GA in April, so it can be done. Just don't get in a hurry, especially west of Denver LOL.

You can knock off a few pounds by hauling the jeep there with the tank empty and filling it up close to your destination. 8 pounds per gal.. it adds up.

You obviously have no idea the way a woman packs when traveling with 3 small children. The gas tank isn't going to cut it...
