Question Custom exhaust systems

I just purchased a 2012 Wrangler. The question I have, is it worth the expense of a custom exhaust system? I am interested in gas and horsepower over sound. What is the best solution?

you will not see worth while gains in HP or mpg for an exhaust upgrade.

Are there not programmers available for the 2012s now?

I have a Dynomax VT catback in the mail. It eliminates the resinator, runs pipe from the cats to the tail pipe. I also have the ole K&N ready to go in. I am going to run the Jeep on my Gtech meter (0-60 and 1/4 mile ET) before and after to see if I wasted my money from a performance stand point.

I have also been keeping an average fuel economy record to see if it helps that as well.

I will post up the results in a few weeks.

'12 JKU, 6 speed, short arm lift, tires, wheels, winch, stubby, tire carrier, armor, blah blah blah...

So with most exhaust companies you will see some nominal gains, we haven't dynoed a 2012- yet. But on the 2007-11 we saw between high single digits and low double digits on a stock Jeep with OE exhaust and stock Jeep with our system on it. Remember this is no lift, tires, wheels, bumpers etc.
One of the best reasons to "upgrade" (and it can be just a free flowing/smaller muffler than OE) is to get it out of the rear area and tucked up near the frame rail.
