Trail Worthy Fab questions

I am thinking about getting a set of wheels from trail worthy fab. However, I am worried about the odd size of 16.5. When I price tires for that size rim they seem to be over $600! Am I just not looking in the right place or am I always going to have to spend that much if infer those rims?

You would run 36/37 military stuff. About 100 each for near new tires...

Or retreads

You get very limited on new tires and retreaded tires for 16.5" rims. That was one of the main reasons I didn't go that route. Not a fan of the military GYs either.

I live one block from TWF and I drop by and visit with them often. They sell an amazing 37" tire that they sipe. The tires are not only dirt cheap they are great driving tires for a Daily Driver. The siping makes them handle extremely well in the dirt & rocks. The folks at TWF are very forthright and honest. You will get a great deal from them and great advice. The tire+wheel packages are low enough in price you can use them and eventually switch to something else if you're not happy, but thus far the folks running their stuff seem mighty pleased.

As Chicken Corners pointed out there are PitBulls sold in that size. TWF is also a PitBull dealer.
