Tailgate and 33" spare rattles over bumps, how to fix?

Like the title says, the tailgate and 33" spare rattles over bumps. Is the 33" spare too much weight for stock setup? I wouldnt think so, but what can be done to fix this. Its not just the carrier moving, its the tailgate.

Wrap electrical tape around the outer side door striker, did it to mine and sound went away.

Buy the Daystar tail gate bump stops until you can afford a new bumper with carrier. KJ09144BK

Depending on the tire carrier, the bump stops might also work with that.

I Dont think bumpstops are going to do anything. Its the tailgate that rattles. Looks like the top hinge is no good.

I think the bumpstops ARE REQUIRED and it depends on the wheel backspace and tire size-

Mine hasn't done any rattling for three years and I have ProComp wheels and Hankook 33.6" tires-

You also have an adjustable tailgate loading ramp, just below the latch, on the tailgate-

I have the same problem, with the daystar bump stops which are tight. How do you adjust the ramp?

The "female ramp guide" on the gate and the "male ramp stud" on the TUB sill, each have two 10mm bolts--

or just tighten the lugs holding your spare. Every now and again mine work loose a little and I rattle over bumps. Always seems to be the answer for me. Start simple and cheap, then start throwing money at it if simple and cheap doesnt work.

I have been holding a 33" on mine for over two years. Mine started making some noise this summer. I opened it and lifted up on the gate. Looks like my top hinge is loose causing some of the noise.
