Since we're the new/mostly stock guy, the wife & I keep workin' on 'em and most wave back. She's even gotten a few soccer mom types trained, lol.

I also think the tint on our windshields may obscure the hand sometimes. Make sure your wave is visible and don't get discouraged.

Ive only seen 1 JK modded here in my area (Where are the rest of you hiding!) but I wave at every wrangler and every modded XJ and get them back most of the time. I figured Id get the shaft from the cj/tj/yj crowd but its the opposite. They almost always wave, its the stock JK's that seem preoccupied with talking on the cell phone, changing songs on the iPod or yelling at the soccer team. All in due time Im sure.

I think it really depends where you are...in Pennsylvania, where i spend half my time, every Jeep waves. In Michigan, its like the people were never informed about the Jeep wave. It's lame. If they don't wave, f**k em, if they do wave, they're Jeepers like the rest of us...

I wave at all Wranglers (sometimes I forget when I'm driving my Subie and wave anyway, then get an odd look or awkward wave ), and have trained the fiancee to do so while driving the JK. I get good respect from 2-doors, but 4-doors always seem to be on their cell phones and never wave- for shame! Mark W.

When I'm near Baltimore, some modded jeeps wave, never have I gotten a stock JK in Baltimore to wave. In Northeast Pa it is about 50/50 on if I get a return wave.

I'd agree on the 50/50 but I don't always notice if it is returned or not. My boys wave too but my wife just shakes her head but then again I get that alot!

It's the same around here with all Wrangler and CJ models. Less than 10% wave. I don't find that JK owners wave any less than drivers of previous models.

I do find that elderly people and women wave far less than men under about 40 or so, and stock vehicle drivers wave less than modified vehicle drivers.

I've come across a few older model owners that clearly ignore waves from JK's, but they are in the minority.

The soccer mom appeal of the JK is higher than previous models, but as I said I still just as many people not waving in TJs, YJs, and CJs around here.

When I ride my motorcycle, everyone waves on two wheels. When I'm in my jk, some wave, but most people are preoccupied with their latte or cell phone. When I'm visiting the inlaws in Sparks, NV, EVERYONE waves that is driving a jeep regardless of model. Sparks, NV, is definitely a Jeep friendly place.

I wave at all wranglers and older models. Most wave back. The ones that don't are either too preoccupied with traffic (understandable), or look like a young mom with a cell phone in her ear on her way to pick up the kids and had no idea why I was waving.

I just smile and keep going.
