Mopar Winch Bumper Stinger?

Has anyone seen a Mopar Winch front bumper with a stinger? I'm not the best when it comes to fabrication, but I really want a stinger eventually, and I want to keep my Mopar Bumpers. Ideas?

Threadjack

Sorry for the //threadjack, but I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff and I'm trying to learn what I can in here before I head out there and learn the hard way.

What's the point of the stinger bumper mod? If I'm not mistaken, these are the great big inverted V shaped bumper mods that stick up a little higher than the hood and at something like a 45 degree angle.

Is this thing for winching, coming off of extreme-angle departures? Is it just a cool-looking hunka steel for protecting the front of your JK? Does it help in other ways? Maybe it's just for pushing inferior vehicles outta the way?

I just dunno. //Threadjack over.

It's so that when you are coming down a real steep hill or obstacle that if you start to tip over it will stop you going over, and usually lay you on the side. If big enough it will also protect the radiator in the event of a roll over.

If it is too small it won't do much, if it is too big it will get in the way.

Mine is made of 1-3/4" tube and I welded it to the front bumper and reinforced the bumper underneath with some 1/4" plate. I used some 1" tube and gussets to brace it. Ideally you want to brace it back to the frame or some tube fenders that are braced to the frame, but bracing it like mine will work, although may be a one time use.

I used the Rugged Ridge Stinger to start with but it is not as strong as it could be, and I crunched it up a bit on a rock. It will most probably work as a stinger, but will likely be a one time use thing.

It bolts directly to the factory mounts on the front and I just drilled and tapped some holes on the bumper for the support mounts.

I know a couple of other people have adapted them for use on different bumpers too.
