M101A2 Trailer builds

Hi there, new to the forum, I am looking at buying one of these trailers? I have heard, by some, that they feel they are way to heavy. Is there a good way to shed some weight from these trailers with out a major refab? Also has anyone tried Sierra 4x4 Trailers 3,500lb Axles-less suspension featuring Hollow rubber springs underneath one of these trailers instead of the stock set up? I am looking, right now, to use the trailer for hauling frewood out of the mountains here in Colorado and in the future as a camper build up too...any thoughts?

I've got a M101A3, after thinking about doing the same as you, I've decided to leave it as is. It's a great trailer for the price and what you want it for. If your still going to do it go to Steel Soldiers. com or Expedition Portal for all kind of build ups.

Has anyone tried to paint the tarp / canopy that comes with the M101A2 trailers. If so how did it turn out and what did you use? Thanks!
