Ordering a 2012 JKU rubicon

I just sold my 02 Z06 today in order to purchase a 2012 JKU Rubicon. I am heading into the dealership in the morning to talk to them about it. I have never ordered a new car with everything i want on it before, so I am not sure how it works (deposit, pay in full, build time, etc). I guess i will find out tomr lol.

Anyway i am looking to order a White JKU Rubicon, auto, 4.10s, max towing, nav, dual tops, black interior, etc. I did spec one out on jeep.com and it was like 38,750 msrp. I hoping the dealer works with me some on the price though. The good thing there is three jeep dealers in about 30 miles so i can shop around. Wish me luck and any tips from owners who ordered their JKs would be great!

Since the 4.10 gears are optional now on Rubis, you may want to think long term and decide if you plan on going to bigger tires/taller gears in the future.

If the answer is yes, maybe not worth getting that option?

the 4.10s are a no cost option and since i am ordering it i figured no reason not to get them. Plus they will be nice until i start modding.

I would venture to guess a majority leaving the factory had 4.10s and when presenting the customers with an option, people were declining which left surplus inventory. (just a guess though)

I traded in my white one last night so I will only have one but it will be my second.
As of last night 4.10's were a $50 option. Maybe it just depends on build dates or who knows...

Hey, I dont know what the latest update is but try getting to treadlightly.com. Some of the members here directed me towards it and when you become a member you get 1% below invoice. So forget MSRP. Become a member for 30 days and you can get the discount. If youre ordering then youll have at least 4 weeks so it should help ya out.

Shop around and get the best price from dealers. Congrats and good luck!

Side note, the 4.10s were a no charge option for me as well. And this was as of the 13th when I placed my factory order.

Heated leather seats. I can't live without them now!

And, yes, join TreadLightly, but not just for the discount!

There is a thread in the Stock JK area telling the entire story. Look for "smoke odor in cab of 2012" or something like that.

YES, for all of the above mentioned; great cause with a couple side incentives.

A bit more detail:
- Treadlightly requires a 2-year membership to quality for the purchase discount. I believe two year membership runs $60.
- If you plan to join AND purchase, read the detail in their site, they only proces memberships on Fridays. So ensure your purchase date aligns to get your discount OR work out the details with the dealership if you must purchase prior.

I'm here to tell you the discounting WORKS! In addition to the 1% under invoice, the dealers cannot charge you the dealer fee which here in FL runs $799-999 depending on the dealer. That amount right there is a considerable amount to save.

You will remain eligible for ALL incentives with Treadlightly too.

I just purchased my wife a 2012 JKU on 12/14 used treadlightly discount of 1% under invoice and received and additional $1500 in discounts on a 2012!!! Needless to say I was pretty happy. I got the Black Forest Green which had to be located and was one of three available between here and AZ.

Best of luck on your purchase. As a former Z06er, it is a different vehicle in every respect, but a transition I was pleased to make.

Join Treadlightly for the cause if you've already purchased

Can you provide any details on this please? I can't seem to find any incentives available but would love to dig up another $1k before I take delivery. Thanks.

I purchased a 2012 less than a week ago, no charge for 4.10's. I was of the opinion they were standard on the Rubicon. Every one that I looked at had the 4.10's. Love the Jeep, think I got darn near every option, and glad I did. And yes, the heated seats are the cats azz!!!!
