Custom work by Tuffy

Just shot an email off to Tuffy for a quote on a custom drawer for the cargo area. Why they haven't developed something in this size yet I don't know...Originally I was going to do the work myself, but then decided to see what the guys that do it for a living could come up with.

Somehow I doubt I'll be disappointed, just might not like the $$ tag though...

5" rise to cover the complete cargo area as the "cubby" will be omitted very soon. It will be to house a few "toys".

there is an awesome one that covers the entire area yet is on a hinge if you need to lift it up to get to the inset drawer, but i think it was $999 (not by tufty) Macs Tie Down

I don't want a full box, just a low drawer so that essentially the top will become the floor of the cargo area for the dogs and gear, hence the 5" rise only.

I read that too quick, sorry. One of the guys on here created and awesome custom box about that height. Tuffy is not planning on making anything like that, not sure why.

It would sell, sort of a big ass tool drawer and you can still put gear on top of it. Great idea.

08 2Door Red Rubicon. Rock Krawler 5.5 Longarm Coilover, Polly rear Coilovers. AEV hood & wheels, 37"KM2s, JE Reel 1350 shafts, 5.38 Yukon gears, Superior axles, Shrockworks stubby, Fab Fours rear, sPod, Rebel Offroad brakes, Warn winch and lots more.

I think the #1 reason they haven't is because very few people have omitted the storage area, in fact, just the opposite with many making them deeper for additional storage or in some cases for dual batteries.

Somehow, I doubt that would happen....but if it did, rest assured they would get one hell of a review and recommendation from me...

I'd be interested in a lock box like this. It would be a lot more convenient to transport weapons to and from the hunting lease in a steel lock box attached to the jeep than in individual cases. Adding a foam layer so that you cut out the outline of your guns/items so they don't slide around would make it perfect!

If you are talking about these, then yea they are too big for what I need. Think of Tuffy's old 3" under seat drawer they make for the TJ's rear seat. Only I need it to be 4-5" in height.
