Hilift on the side

Has anyone tried this method for mounting the hilift?, I will make my own rock sliders and I was thinking in adding a support for the hilift.

I can't think of any reason why you would prefer to put it there over a bumper or hood

Looks like a good way to knock off your mirrors.

Of course it might help prevent the dimple mod.

Welded to the windshield plate with a body mount slider. Seems like something will tweak.

thanks looks good, I like as is easy to take in and out, no fear of scratch the hood, easy to build.

I think the OP would be fine with mild wheeling with a set up like that. I have been running modified rubi ralis for years and never hesitate using the high lift on them

Id lift it from them, but my point was having the jack welded to the windshield plate and how much the slider will deflect under load can cause that windshield bracket to tweak. The top jack mount needs to be rubber isolated.

You can use these mounted to the door hinges instead of the hood hinges. Cheap, easy way to try what you're talking about. I haven't mounted a Hi-Lift there but I have tried an axe there and it clears the mirror; the Hi-Lift should clear too

Moving my Hi-Lift off of my hood saved me an honest 1.5 mpg city; haven't taken a trip yet to see what it did for my highway mileage
