I got 5 PM notifications within a minute today. All PM's were from three days ago or longer.
This sort of shit never happened under the old regime as far as I'd seen over the better part of the past three years. Instant notification used to mean just that - damned near instant notification. If a PM took more than 10 minutes to hit my email, it was weird.
Now we've got dirty advertisers hitting us with popup ads that follow us around the screen (although I haven't seen any more of those lately
) and PM's that are taking multiple days to even trigger an email. I guess I figured that having JKO team up with a huge company like the one that bought Lance out would minimize
issues like this, not exacerbate them. Pretty disappointed by the result so far.
And FWIW, if I were Marcus and paying a premium for the privilege of using this website as an extension of my livelihood, I probably wouldn't take too kindly to catching an attitude when asking about a problem that's been going on for weeks. More so since a BIG part of his customer service has to do with timely response to issues experienced by his customer base. Marcus has a good reputation with this crowd; scratch that, a DAMN good reputation with this crowd, so I can certainly empathize with his frustration at not being able to stay up to speed with his client base simply because this website isn't running the way we're used to it being operated, which is to say, you're not doing very well at this Admin shit so far, Admin.
No crazy drunk cockpunch references this time around, just a few simple questions:
How long has this issue really been on your radar?
Did you wait for the email notification about the PM to arrive before you started working on the problem? (Actually, that would explain the incredibly long lag here)
What exactly are you doing to fix it? There's plenty of seriously GEEKY geeks in the JKO membership ranks, they may be able to help you troubleshoot.
Are you the one who's actually doing the work on the issue, or is it being farmed out to a 15 year old kid in Bangalore, India? This could also explain the lag. That time difference is a serious bitch.
Inquiring minds want to know.
