2012 JK

I know on earlier models you could turn off the esp by cycling the key and turning the wheel and so forth. Does anyone know if it can be done on the 2012's. I have also heard that regearing a 2012 will put it into limp mode is this true? I've searched but can't find the answers. Thanks.

Can't speak to the eps issue but I did recently that we now sell the AEV ProCal that will calibrate a 2012 JK for new gear ratios.

Regearing does put automatics-only into limp mode IF you don't program the new gears. Currently the only programmer for the gear ratios is the AEV procal as mentioned. Make sure you get an updated Procal for the 2012 models.

As far as disabling ESP, have you read your manual? There are several options depending on whether you're in 2WD, 4WD Hi, or automatically in 4WD Lo. Just check the manual, it explains it in there. However, I don't believe there is a full disable anymore. But you can still disable it by means mentioned in the manual.

Don't have the jeep yet but I'm getting a 2dr 6spd. I was really hoping there was a way to turn off the esp.

If you are getting a manual, then you don't have anything to worry about anyway.

The limp mode issue is only in the autos when regeared without the computer reprogrammer with either the ProCal or Burnsville reprogramming.

Oh okay, good man with the manual! Same here. I hate automatic transmissions, but it is all personal preference.

If you want more details on what you can disable and how, you can download and view the manual for the 2012s in PDF format on the jeep website.
